Programmers, engineers and developers are working on higher forms of robotic intelligence that delve into the creative arts such as painters, journalist, and comedians.  Automation will likely touch all jobs, from manual labor to knowledge work.  Experts predict that true artificial intelligence will very likely be here around 2040.
