The TEAMS Institute was created as a ministry of NAPAS to respond to a need to provide college and career prep centers of recreation, entertainment and learning for underserved youth in rural counties during out of school, after school and the summer. NAPAS a 501 (c) (3) organization was founded in 1979 through the support of notable doctoral scholars at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
With one full time staff, ten contract staff and over 100 volunteers the group began it first development of a 21st Century Community Learning Center in McKenzie, Tennessee. Visit our website at www.teamsinstitute.org.
The creation of this organization is our way of repaying those who exposed us to the rich world of careers in technology, engineering, the arts, medicine and science.

The accomplishments and experience of our volunteer staff include: 90% of youth surveyed voiced satisfaction with our programs 50% of students increased their grades 80% tested proficient in academic testing 50% participated in extra-curricular activities 90% of alumni working or pursuing secondary education 60% of alumni displayed an increase in positive social behavior managed projects as large as $200 million secured over $1 million for one non-profit
